We're Going Green!
The environment has become an issue of increased visibility and concern in the past few decades. We are all responsible for maintaining the environment for a healthier world for each other and for future generations. At Prudential, we certainly do not think we are an exception.
Prudential has been promoting and actively involved with high-efficiency heating since the late-1970’s with the introduction of the high-efficiency Lennox® pulse furnace.
Today we offer not only high-efficiency heating products, but also high-efficiency air conditioning products and many environmentally-friendly indoor air quality products to make you and your family more comfortable in your home.
Dual-Fuel Hybrid Systems
A dual-fuel hybrid system combines your heat pump and gas furnace to optimize energy savings while maintaining comfort inside your home.
|
|
A dual fuel hybrid system automatically switches between gas and electric depending on which is more efficient at the current outdoor temperature. Your heat pump will operate just like an air conditioner and cool your home in the summer. It will also serve as your primary heat source in the winter. However, on extra cold days, when your gas furnace would operate more efficiently than your electric heat pump, your furnace becomes your primary heat source. |
It will continue to heat your home until the outdoor temperature rises enough for your heat pump to operate more efficiently again.
ENERGY STAR Products
By choosing ENERGY STAR, you are helping to prevent global warming and promoting cleaner air, all while enhancing the comfort in your own home.
Refrigerants
As of January 1, 2010, manufacturers are no longer allowed to produce R-22 heating and air conditioning equipment. R-410A is now used as a more efficient and environmentally-friendly alternative to R-22.
![]() |
In response to international environmental concerns, R-410A was developed as an alternative to R-22, or Freon. R-410A is not damaging to the ozone layer and also allows a higher heat transfer than R-22, resulting in a more efficient operation. |
If you still have an R-22 heating and air conditioning product, don't worry - R-22 refrigerant will still be produced until January 1, 2020 to service existing equipment. Due to this lengthy phase out, the transition from R-22 to R-410A should not be an inconvenience, but rather a step toward a healthier environment.
|
At Prudential, our technicians are EPA certified to ensure that the release of ozone-depleting chemicals into the atmosphere is kept to an absolute minimum. Prudential offers air conditioners, heat pumps and air handlers that are all R-410A compatible. The Energy Pros
The Energy Pros is a group of sub-contractors, builders and manufacturers who are dedicated to sponsoring education for the public on the benefits and strategies of high performance homes.
| Prudential is proud to be an active member of The Energy Pros. In an era where terms like "green" and "eco-friendly" are misunderstood buzzwords, The Energy Pros believe education is the key component to improving sustainable awareness in residential construction. |
Recovery and Recycling
Prudential realizes the harmful effects that result in releasing refrigerant into the atmosphere; therefore, all of our mechanics use refrigerant recovery machines to recover and reclaim refrigerants. This refrigerant can then be reprocessed to the same purity level as new refrigerant and reused.
